The time spent with friends on the golf course has always been fun.
Sometimes mischievous, always respectful and appreciative of the (privilege) to play the game.
Hitting the links for the first time in 2023 with a new group of people/friends has me excited!
My expectations are to meet some like-minded people, create some relationships and score/shoot under 100. Yea that may be ambitious but I like to have a mental plan going in.

Update May 2024.
When I started this as a note/blogpost I didn't have the full range of where it was going. I still don't and I am ok with that.
This update is part of an ongoing documentation of golf in my life.
After a Spring and Summer of playing more than I have in years, I accepted that my clubs were holding me back from enjoying the game. I wasn't going to improve playing with mismatched, wrong size, hand me down, yard sale clubs even if I had them regripped.
My swing is built from a lefthand person who bats on the right side. Think of HOF OF and Stolenbase King Rickey Henderson. My swing is erratic, oftentimes steep and in attack mode. I'm learning to let the club do the work.
As I age I know matching the physical abilities of my youth is a futile effort and it behooves me to adjust my game to where I am physically going. In the Fall and early Winter of 2023 I had lots of internal conversations about what I wanted from golf. I enjoy many aspects of the game, the mental, physical and yes spiritual aspects of the game. I just want to play better with more consistent scores.
Not long after, across my social media feed comes an ad for PXG Parsons Extreme Golf. After some research I made the investment into my to get fitted for clubs. (Fitted is an industry term used such as custom, specialized, made for etc.) The process was quite simple, make an appointment, come to their studio, take swings, make your purchase.
Stay tuned for more about my golf experiences and catch me talking about sports with Comedian Dan Regan and Filmmaker Jamaal R. Green on the "Fans Not Fanatics" podcast.
